My mom made her first trip to Boston to celebrate Thanksgiving with Andrew and I.  She drove down by herself, despite previous plans to come down with a few cousins, which actually ended up being really great since I didn’t have to entertain a lot of people in my small apartment and she knows now that she can do it.  It was her first time in Boston so we went around and did some touristy stuff.  I made all the food on that table plus two pies with just one pot, one pan and two casserole pans.  I don’t have a lot of kitchen stuff, hence the reason the food is being served out of mixing bowls and a measuring cup!
For Christmas Andrew and I headed up north to my mother’s house on the Rez.  I could not wait to go home.  I need to be home for Christmas and I love how cozy and exciting it is when I am.  I only wish I could go home sooner and longer.  While we were home I took Andrew out to my pond for the first time.  It was the first time I’ve even been out there for years and so much has changed!  There are still beavers there and I still find it breath-taking.
While up home for Christmas, all of the old high school friends got together for a night of partying and reminiscing.  It’s been a long time since we were all together like that.  Plus, it was the first time Andrew has met my high school friends.  It was long overdue and a really great time!  I miss the days we used to hang out all the time.
Here are some random pictures of our kitties for fun.  They are cute, and Xochi just keeps getting bigger!  Not a little baby kitty anymore…
Mallyn and Eric came down to Boston to visit us for the first time for New Year’s.  We went out on the town doing a lot of really fun stuff, like visiting the Edgar Allen Poe exhibit at the Library, buying some clothes at The Garment District and visiting the Science Museum!  For New Year’s Eve we all went out with Amalia, Aleena, Kendra, and David for Dinner at Zocalo’s then back to Amalia and Aleena’s for the countdown and drinking games.  I was sad to see them go back home, I wish they lived closer!
