Andrew:
Andrew was born in Akron/Canton, Ohio but spent most of his life abroad. He grew up in many countries including Mexico, Spain, Australia, United States, Taiwan, Costa Rica and spent time in many other places. He is an eclectic guy and his personality and interests reflect that. His hobbies range from DJing and Producing music to Skydiving, digital graphics/web design and studying social dynamics. Yes, he’s kind of a geek!
His best friend Alex Weber had mentioned Shelby throughout the summer of 2008, leading him to gain some interest in her well before they even met. Little did he know how much they had in common and just how fast they would hit it off once they finally did meet! It didn’t take much. Within a week of meeting her he was soon head over heels! He’s just crazy about Shelby and couldn’t imagine a more amazing woman to be spending the rest of his life with!
Shelby:
Shelby grew up in upstate NY on the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation with her mother, Darlene, and her “Tota” (a Mohawk pet name for her Grandmother), Minnie Mae, and was surrounded by a loving and large extended family. From a young age Shelby has had a passion for traveling and embarking on adventures. During her junior year at Massena Central High she was a Rotary International Exchange Student to La Fleche, France. It is due to this experience that she eventually majored in French at Ithaca College with minors in two of her other passions: Art and History. While at Ithaca College she spent a semester abroad as one of the first 13 students to experience the Ithaca Walkabout Downunder program in 2004. Once out of College she returned to France to teach English in a local high school in the town of Vannes in Bretagne.

Aside from traveling, Shelby has many other interests ranging from reading, cooking/baking, various forms of art (drawing, beadwork, artist books, photography, etc), computers and above all the relationships she’s made with all of the people she has befriended along the way. It is largely due her network of friends that her and Andrew met. One of Andrew’s closest friends, Alex, happened to also be one of Shelby’s close friends and as soon as they met in person, they were inseparable. Their story continues to be written and will be written about, here at their new blog!
